THE GARDEN
Fear fuels our legs so we walk
And wander and wonder what
We’re looking for and yet
We come home disappointed again
That we have not found “it”.
The feet take a beating
As does hope.
The mind will never find
What the soul yearns for,
As scary as it is…
Open up your heart,
Risk pain and grief
For surely they will visit
To teach you compassion
For yourself and for all the rest
The many “you’s” you see
With the eyes of your heart
Consoles and fills that lonely
Empty hole in the center
Of your soul,
Out of which the force of love
And source of light
Once again the Garden grows.
